Description
"Eau d’orange verte is the scent of the Little Prince in all of us." – Jean-Claude Ellena.
The original cologne created by Françoise Caron in 1979, inspired by the smell of undergrowth moist with morning dew, this fragrance has become an emblem of Hermès, and stands out for its distinctive freshness. The fragrance is an explosion of citrus notes, with orange, playing the central role between zests and leaves, lemon, mandarin, mint, and blackcurrant bud. Eau d’orange verte reveals its complexity in a unique sillage comprising oak moss and patchouli. Eau d’orange verte concentrated eau de toilette: the sustained freshness of a sparkling orange with a woody signature.

Great citrus scent
This is my favorite. I lean toward a citrus scent and this is the best. (just a little on the sweet side).

Uplifting fragrance
When I was in Europe, this was the fragrance of all the bathroom toiletries. I fell in love with the fragrance. When I used the shampoo for my hair, the sillage from the wind blowing through it was breathtaking. This was back in 2014 and I looked for the fragrance, but couldn't find it at the time. Well, I've found it and I purchased it. I don't think it's a "manly" scent, just a fresh, uplifting scent that I will use in the summer.

Not really for women
To me it is men's perfume rather than women's.

Fades fast and nothing "fresh" about it
Per the other reviews and product description I was hoping this would smell more citrus and fresh. Nope, not at all smells musty and fades fast. Going back asap

Like beauty...this cologne fades. Fast
I love the smell of this cologne! It's fresh, green citrus; light; with a hint of fresh herbs, but it fades SO FAST, annoyingly fast. I keep a bottle at home and in my car, because I love the smell, but it needs reapplication. It's an addicting aroma, but prepare to spray!

all around love
this is a soft, clean citrus with some earthiness to it. i have, from time to time, ventured into wearing men's colognes as there are definitely those that cross over well. this is one of them. it's distinctive and memorable, but likely not for everyone.

Not my usual pick...
I've been looking for a new scent since Masaki Matsushima discontinued Mat; Orange. Most orange based perfumes are too sweet and childlike or the other ingredients in the mixture are too heady (amber, patchouli, musk). For years, I have been looking for an orange fragrance that isn't sweet, musky or heady. Recently while on vacation a woman suggested Hermès eau d'orange verte! I tried it on and fell in love! It is orange, fresh, and possibly even a touch herbal. I went Sephora to purchase it and told the sales associate I was looking for an Hermès scent that I tried previously and it smelled like oranges. He sprayed all the Hermès scents but none of them seemed quite right. They were all too heady. I had to go wash them off before going home. Finally I tracked down Eau d'orange verte on the Hermès site when I remembered that the original sales woman said it was a unisex scent! I usually don't go for unisex colognes but on women the orange shines front and center. On men the more subtler wood scent emerges. It is lovely! It would be great if the associates at Sephora knew which scents were unisex. Having testers for unisex fragrances available in both the men and women's sections would also help!

Fragrance has been a part of the history of the house of Hermès since the 1930s.
In the library of Hermès perfumes, every creation tells a story, opens up an imaginary world. As both artisan and artist, Hermès demonstrates through its creations the excellence of its craftsmanship and style; audacious and harmonious, timeless and elegant.

Eau d'orange verte Eau de cologne
.....
I have been wearing this scent for over 35 years - still the original and first unisex cologne (before Calvin Klein). However: it's equally the best AND worst cologne ever made, because of the longevity of the base notes. I literally have to carry a small vial of this when I wear it because it wears off so soon.
