228 Medium Precision Shader Brush

Versatile for small eyes great for natural looks

I picked this up because of a sale, and didn’t expect that I’d love this! As a lazy non-pro user, the brush is great and versatile for natural eye make-up (both matte and shimmer powder shadows) – I can use its flat sides to apply base eyeshadow all over the lid, and its thin edge for more precise application at the outer corners with a darker shadow without changing brushes. I have the 228 Medium Precision Shader (which has a similar shape as 226 but longer hair) at home from a holiday kit too, and I have to say 226 works better than 228 for me as someone with small Asian monolid eyes. The 228 is just a tad too big and hard to control, while this 226 just works perfectly!

For the lovers of smokey eyes and liners!

If youre the type that loves smokey eyes and eyeliner you need this. i use it to smudge shadows on my lower lash. Any dark shadow with this brush comes out beautiful + smudges cream shadows as liner precisely. So many different forumals to use with this.

not great for building up shadow

This is a beautifully made brush. I love the wooden handle. The bristles are soft (although some of my Sephora Pro eyeshadow brushes are softer) and I love the design of the bristles. The bristles and brush part are flat, thin, rounded, and tapered. The tapered and thin edges allow for precision e.g. Placing shadow in the inner corners, along the lower lash line, etc. This brush is perfect for placing metallic and glittery shadows on the lid. It's also great for light application of shadows all over the eye and lid areas, however because it is so thin and tapered, this brush doesn't put much shadow down and it doesn't work well for building up product. If you want a brush for heavily pigmented looks, try the Sephora Pro 30 brush. It's great for packing colour onto the lid.

This brush does everything I need it to do. Plus it is extremely soft and easy to clean. Makeup forever makes really great brushes so you can't go wrong.
