Mixed feelings

I really wanted to love this product but unfortunately don't! Reading everyone elses reviews, I feel like I used something completely different to them... Firstly I have long, curly but fine hair. I have previously used the shampoo & conditioner for thinning hair, & absolutely loved them!! I have been looking at this product for a very long time, but have not been able to justify buying it because of the price. So when it came up on Beautorium I was ecstatic. As with all of Aveda products I love the fragrance. I didn't like how the spray bottle tended to 'squirt' rather than spray the product onto my hair. If not for combing it through then the application would not be very even at all. I was impressed however with how easy it was to comb my hair, something that can be a challenge with my hair usually. Unfortunately it was all downhill from there. I did not notice any thickening or extra volume to my hair after use. On top of that my hair felt almost brittle when dry. I am going to try it again when I finish my current shampoo & conditioner, in case it was not compatible with them, but if the dryness persists I will not continue to use this tonic. So disappointed!

Hello volume

I have really thin hair and this has certainly added the little umpf I needed. It has aveda 's wonderful signature scent of herbally extracts. When you first apply it to wet hair it does hair a weird sticky feel when you brush it with a comb but I wouldn't be too worried about it as it dries fine. If you're having trouble combing it through, start from tip to root.

Truly Amazing

My hair is quite flat and thin so I decided to give this thickening tonic a try and I'm so glad I did. From the very first time I used this I noticed my hair has so much more volume and a great healthiness about it. The spray has a beautiful fresh herbal aroma, which reflects all the beneficial natural ingredients it contains, and that is a whopping 97%. It pleasantly sprays onto my hair, without giving hair that icky greasy feeling or weighing it down. Instead my hair is smooth and feels weightless. I'm so much more confident with my thicker, luscious hair.

aveda thickening tonic

I received a sample of the aveda thickening tonic and went onto purchase this product as I loved it. I have thin hair but lots of it so I need thickening not so much volume. You spray this product onto roots and the ends abd blow dry or dry naturally. The smell is herbal and fresh. When this product dries it does leave a sticky dry touch matte look but the texture of the hair is much thicker and looks more stronger. The roots especially look thicker and the end fine strands slightly more voluminous. This product does work and lasts a few days. If your looking for volume try the voluminiser in this range- this just makes strands look thicker which I love! This is perfect for me. Texture and thicker looking hair!!

A thickening spray formulated for thinner hair.

I purchased this product to compliment the Aveda Thick shampoo and conditioner system. I love Aveda products, so when I found my hair looking a bit thin after a stressful move I was excited to see if this product could thicken the look of my hair. I so wanted this thickening spray to work wonders, but I'm afraid that my wavy, curly, medium length hair was not the target audience for this product. When sprayed on my hair before blow drying it seemed to have a sticky/drying effect. It did seem to increase the volume of my hair, while at the same time making it look quite dry and dehydrated. Over a couple of weeks of use I got the impression that it was seriously drying my hair. Initially I just compensated by using other products to tame the frizz, but eventually I thought it just wasn't working for my hair type. I also tried it with an air dry approach, just letting my curls dry with the product in them, but it was pretty sticky. On the plus side, the smell is that signature Aveda fragrance that is so calming and relaxing. I so wish I saw the results I was after. I do believe this product would work well for someone with shorter, possibly straighter or oilier hair. In that case, I'd imagine this thickening spray would give you a really nice boost of volume, especially with a good blow dry. volume made easy

I have super fine hair which is very difficult to style but this product is a match for my hair. Just spray on damp hair and then blow dry & you will be amazed at how much thickness and body is delivered. I find that I only need a couple of spritzes per section, to get good results, Also, it will still work even after you've brushed your hair out, so you can re-style if need be. It's pricey, but worth every cent.

Thick Luscious Hair

I love this thickening tonic, my hair is thicker with the use of this spray. My hair is already thick but the ends of my hair are finer due to split ends. This spray is amazing, it really thickens my hair. The results are very noticeable, there is a huge difference in the before and after results. The spray instantly thickens my hair after blow drying. It is an extremely easy spray to use and the results are worth the blow dry. The spray smells herbal, it is a divine scent. The spray goes on my hair and it does not add any heaviness to my hair. The spray makes my hair look smooth and healthy once I have blow dried. I love the added benefit of this spray having an added heat protectant, this is one less step I need to worry about when blow drying. My hair has never looked so good, thanks to this product. I feel more confident when I use this product as my fine ends are transformed into thick luscious locks. My hair has never looked so smooth, healthy and thick. Overall an amazing product and definitely worth it for the results.

Smells lovely and really adds body

I love the smell of Aveda products and this one doesn't disappoint - it has a lovely sauna/woodsy scent. Spraying it on wet hair and blow drying adds heaps of body - it's a little stiff at the roots but you can't see that. I've even sprayed it on wet hair and let it air dry and have seen good results!

Definitely adds texture and volume!

Firstly, the packaging and the perfume definitely reflects the personality of the product as being naturally derived. I loved this! I received a sample through the Aveda free sample campaign on their website and was thrilled to receive it! I have very fine, baby thin hair that's so limp and lifeless. I'm constantly told to cut my hair short to make it look thicker but I dream of having long luscious hair that I just can't do that! So once I signed up, I was super excited to see if this would work, and give me the illusion of my long thin hair being thick and with body! I was so impressed, I worked the product into my hair after my hair had been partially dried with a towel. I then blowdried my hair, careful not to knot up my hair. The results were fantastic. I definitely noticed a good amount of texture added to my limp hair, and it appeared to be voluminous. It did not feel heavy on my hair, or weigh it down. And the effects lasted for hours. Other thickening products I've found can weigh down the hair and after an hour or so, my hair has retreated back to its original, limp and lifeless state. When I grabbed my hair in a heap, it definitely felt thicker. The only downsides is that this product can make your hair knot up or mat together more easily so be careful when you are blowdrying or styling. Other thing is that I did not make my hair feel smooth or healthy, but this was offset with the awesome amount of texture it gave me.

Beautiful Thick Hair!

I absolutely loved this product! Recieved a 10ml sample off Aveda a couple of weeks ago and applied to my towel dried hair. 3 or 4 sprays mid length to ends down was enough for amazing results. Has that natural sort of foresty scent of other Aveda products that I have tried. This has been by far my favorite product of theirs. My hair looked and felt the most amazing it ever has. Definitely thicker and just nicer looking in general. I cant justify spending that much on such a small bottle on a regular basis though, but when I do have money to splurge-this will be on top of the list for sure. Absolutely love it. Does what it claims.

Adds volume, but does get a tad sticky

I followed all of the instructions it came with, and while I was expecting some volume/thickness to my hair, I was a little unprepared for how thick it actually ended up being! This has a bit of a wilderness scent, kinda leafy, which is quite pleasant, really. As someone who has thick, but generally flat hair, this honestly did lift things at the root, giving it some oomph. I did find that the roots got a little sticky, but it's not unexpected with this kind of a product.

Yes It Works To Thicken Quickly!

This hair tonic thickener has the scent I would expect from Aveda and is similar to other Aveda products in this particular range. I like it a lot! It reminds me of an English forest (not that I've ever been to one but what I'd imagine an English forest would smell like!). Kind of fresh, botanical and woody all in one! Essentially, this definitely thickens up the look and feel of my hair. I suddenly feel like I've got loads of hair!! Omgoodness! I have long hair which is fine but lots of it and so when I spray this into it a few times and brush it through (I find it fine to do on dry hair as it's more convenient for me) my hair only takes seconds to get thicker. I like to add a shine serum to my long lengths and ends after applying this to boost my shine factor!
