Love love love
It was such a pleasure trialling this leave-in treatment by Aveda. I have been using this after every wash through damp hair. I disperse about a 10 cent coin amount into my fingers, and I apply from mid-length to my ends. Using this product has felt like a luxury and has made me feel like I am at the salon. The scent is refreshing and botanical, and it just has this feel of quality about it. Once my hair has dried, my hair feels soft, hydrated and shiny. I love how this product absorbs into my hair without leaving an oily residue which I often experience with leave-in treatments. Overall my hair looks healthy, it feels healthy, and I have noticed with the help of a trim, my overall hair health has improved.

Nourishing
I have been lucky enough to be sent this product to test as part of the trial team and am so happy that this product has been brought into my life. I don’t normally use hair treatments however I was pleasantly surprised at just how well the Aveda Botanical Care Strengthening Leave In Treatment works. I have quite oily and thin hair and was a bit hesitant to try as I don’t like to use too many products that might weigh my hair down , but this product was extremely luxurious and left my hair feeling light, clean and moisturised. The smell is beautiful, and I love that this is a natural treatment. I feel that my hair was deeply nourished, and as I use heat products on my hair daily, as I blow dry and straighten often, that this leave in treatment is really helping to repair and nourish my highly damaged hair. I would highly recommend this product and will definitely be investing in it in the future.

botanical repair™ strengthening leave-in treatment
The botanical repair strengthening leave-in treatment is a very thick cream but evens out beautifully when applied onto the hair. What I like about botanical repair strengthening leave-in treatment you can apply to dry or wet hair. I prefer to leave in overnight and wrap my hair in a warm towel. In the morning my hair is replenished and it's super easy to brush my hair and style. My hair looks so much healthier and more alive. The treatment doesn't feel heavy at all. Less is more, I have thick and long hair so I apply enough to cover my the ends of my hair Even though it is a much smaller bottle than the shampoo and conditioner, a little bit goes a long way. The bottle should last for awhile. I wouldn't use botanical repair strengthening leave-in treatment after every wash but only when my hair feels super dry and needing nourishment.

Leave in protection
A good quality cream leave in conditioner is a girls best friend but hard to find. With many companies moving towards oils and serums or lightweight sprays, it can be a challenge to find a product that works for dry hair which also has a natural curl and prone to frizz. This leave in treatment is a revelation! It goes into your damp hair so smoothly and got sucked up by my poor chemically and heat abused hair in an instant. I went on holiday and the 100mL tube was a travel lifesaver for its size and the benefits it provided when I was swimming every day in the ocean. I don’t like travelling with too much product and all I used each day after conditioning was this treatment and it left my hair soft, smoother than usual after layering a leave in conditioner, curl enhancing product and Moroccan oil. This was all I needed and my hair was better for it. Highly recommended.

Smells like mothballs!
I was super lucky to be on the trial team for this leave in treatment! Firstly Aveda are great with their packaging! From recycled plastics etc. This is a strengthening leave in treatment which is great because I have breakage. I love the green colour of this range. The texture is light and creamy. I used probably more than would be suggested but my hair is super coarse. I like the feel of it but I do need a lot to feel like it has been distributed evenly. The only problem is the smell! It smells like mothballs to me. It does actually contain camphor! Not sure why? It also seems to have an awfully long list of ingredients many of which I do not think would be considered "botanical" as per the name of the range. I didn't feel overly hydrated when using but it is a strengthening product so perhaps over time with consistent use my hair will be stronger. It doesn't weigh hair down which I prefer in a product because I'm quite frizzy.

Not too heavy
I was lucky enough to be part of the trial team for Aveda leave in conditioner, it’s packaged in a green tube with a easy flip top lid. The constancy is thick and I was worried it might be greasy but it’s not at all. I used the leave in conditioner after washing my hair, I used a small amount and worked it through towel dried hair with my hands, and focused on the ends. After that I blow dryer and straightened my hair, and it felt silky and soft. Also because I have fine hair it tangles a lot, I felt that this leave in conditioner helped with that and I noticed less knots. I was also worried it would weigh down my fine straight hair and make it look flat or greasy but it didn’t at all. Overall a great leave in conditioner and would recommend for fine straight hair.

Worked quite well to detangle and soften hair
Of all three products in the review trial, this one was my favourite, the smell was much softer and more feminine in this one too - I think it has a more obviously dominant Ylang-Ylang note - which is just as well, since this lingers more on the hair considering you apply it once out of the shower and it stays on! I did not need to use a separate detangling spray on my wet hair when using this as it was enough on its own (and I have waist length dry, very fried hair!) the effect only lasted a couple of days though and then I was back to needing to add something 'more' to my hair to brush it out again in the mornings. Although the product is very good, I would be highly unlikely to re-purchase it once it runs out because it is extremely pricey in my view. I also wish there was more information on what the formulation has *avoided* - they don't go to any trouble to list the avoided ingredients - which is the norm in this space typlically - they just rather ambiguously go for the 'plant-powered damage repair' tag line and say nothing more - I mean plant powered doesn't *actually* mean the same thing as saying it's 100% naturally derived & organic ingredients - so it's pretty clear to me that this product is perhaps not as planet friendly a choice as others in the space. The other sticking point for me (as a natural-product shopper with high expectations) is the packaging itself - I really appreciate that they have used and noted the use of this being packaged using some % of recycled plastics, however, because of this, there is no standard plastic recycling code on the bottle, and not only this, instead of it, they actually note (also on the matching conditioner), recycling options are limited because of the plant-derived bioplastic % content. (Note the shampoo does not say this - it is full recycled plastic - but because all three packaging options look identical, I am concerned that people will treat all three as being essentially 'the same' and either will not recycle them at all, or will incorrectly recycle them, and thus create potential issues within the recycled plastics chain. I really appreciate when a company makes an effort to do more, but I believe it needs to be simple and consistent within a product line to make it EASY for consumers to do the right thing - even those not typically motivated by such things should be able to 'accidentally' do right by the planet when they just throw the containers away into their curbside recycling. I just do no see everyone who buys this going to the trouble of individually contacting their local recycling program (as is advised on the bottle!) before figuring out what to do with the used containers. So this for me, was a big issue with how the brand has perhaps not quite thought out the full life cycle of the packaging from creation, through to consumer end use and beyond.

5 star leave-in natural hair treatment
This product is the crowning glory in the Aveda Botanical Repair range. I used it after the Botanical Repair shampoo and conditioner and love that this line is 99% natural. This treatment has a lovely light scent and also feels light-weight, so hair doesn't feel weighted down or like you've got too many products in it. My shoulder-length hair only needed a small amount for coverage. I noticed that the treatment added to my hair feeling hydrated after the shampoo and conditioner. I LOVE that it also acts as a heat protectant so there is no need to use an additional product. I mostly let my hair dry naturally and noticed that my hair felt really soft. I imagine all the natural oils included in this treatment help with that! I have done light ghd straightens after using the Aveda products and noticed that my hair sits well and holds the style better than usual (using other hair care products). This treatment is a keeper for sure! Highly recommended

Hair feeling limp, dry, lifeless? Use this!
This is much needed product for anyone who uses heaps of heat tools, may have quite dry and even colour treated hair for heat protection and for healthier, stronger hair. Consistency is thick enough to feel like it's coating my hair (although my hair is fine, I have a lot of it so I find oils don't really feel like they do much). The smell is pleasant enough, not horrible but not delightful, divine smell either! When my hair is feeling especially dry on the ends (maybe a day after washing) I like to run a small amount through the ends before doing a quick go over with the straighteners. I feel like this just give the ends a bit more of much needed heat protection, and also just makes it feel that bit healthier, shinier and stronger for that day. I think this range from Aveda is great and I will continue to buy the leave in treatment, shampoo & conditioner. From the ingredients they use, philosophy on the environment, environmentally conscious packaging & cruelty free, I think they are a company that all beauty companies should be looking to for inspiration.

Aveda Botanical Repair Strengthening Leave-In Treatment
The Aveda Botanical Repair Strengthening Leave-In Treatment comes in a dark green 100ml tube with white and light green writing that stands on its lid which I find great for less wastage. I like that it is printed on the pack that this product is tested on people, good to know straight away that it is not tested on animals. The only instructions this product has is to apply through damp hair, no amount is indicated after the first application I applied the amount of a $0.20 cent piece through my damp hair and left to dry and I have recently damaged hair I am trying not to blow dry and straighten in on days I don’t have to. It has the same unpleasant earthy scent as the shampoo and conditioner which I find very off putting the more I smelt it my stomach started to turn. It is printed on the back that it is Avedas own pure-fume for the price point I would have thought that at least it could be something more pleasant especially given the price point I would purely not repurchase this given the scent. I have used it quite a lot to get a good feel of the product and give it a good chance but it did nothing for my hair after the use of all three products it immediately felt kind of soft after drying, still frizzy and even after the leave in treatment quite brittle and crisp, usually after using good quality products around the same price my hair usually responds really well to that kind of a product unfortunately it was not the case with this looking at my hair in the mirror and then trying to run my fingers through it isn’t the best and makes me feel like I need to wash it and start again.

A leave-in treatment that does nothing
AVEDA Botanical Repair Strengthening leave-in treatment - 100ml After using the AVEDA Botanical Repair Strengthening shampoo and conditioner I towel dried my hair and I combed my hair to remove any knots or tangles and then I went to use the leave-in treatment. It is a thick pale milky/creamy yellow colour with a consistency of a sorbolene moisturiser and smells the same as the shampoo and conditioner (It kind of smells piney like pine cones. Really earthy and herby. The smell also kind of reminds me of a nappy rash cream that comes in a white tube that I used on my kids. Not pleasant). I applied a 20 cent piece sized amount (as there are no instructions on how much to use) to one of my hands and then once again rubbed both hands together then ran my hands through my mid-lengths and ends and left my hair to air dry naturally. The leave in treatment didn't make my hair feel any softer or anything like that. It basically feels like it does nothing. And it also makes my hair feel like it's gritty or has had hair spray in it then brushed out. Really dry. Also makes my pillow case smell like the product. As my hair started to dry naturally it became extremely frizzy and my hair didn't feel as soft as it does with my regular hair care products that I always use. It felt really dry, stripped and unmanageable. My hair literally feels like I've just been in the ocean. I'm not even sure what this product does. It has literally made my hair worse. I have since used this product more times with no improvements or changes. My hair feels the same each time I use it. I have even increased the amount of product I use to see if that makes a change but it doesn't. So far because of the smell of the product and the way it makes my hair feel I would not purchase this myself. I do have course, thick, wavy, frizzy hair and I do straighten it but it does say on the back of the bottle that it is suitable for all hair types and textures. There is limited information on the bottle. Most of it is in another language or it has a big list of ingredients. It does says it contains Aveda's own pure-fume (meaning their own perfume) which contains certified organic ylang-ylang, rose, marjoram and other pure flower and plant essences. I've also done separate reviews for the AVEDA Botanical Repair Strengthening shampoo and conditioner which are similar to this review. Same smell, feeling etc. No improvements to my hair. Makes my hair feel and smell awful. The tube itself is minimum 62% post-consumer HDPE and up to 38% bioplastic (which is 98% plant derived and 4% petrochemical). Recycling is limited so contact your local recycling program. Leave-in treatment has to be used within 24 months from opening. The leave-in treatment is made in the USA.

Solid leave in treatment
I’ve only had a couple of days to trial this product so this is more of a first impressions of the leave in treatment. The bottle is a good size, however the instructions are really vague on the back with no real guide on how much you should be using. This may have affected the outcome of my use as I possibly didn’t use enough. The leave-in treatment has a nice light weight texture but I found the scent quite strong and off putting. I know it’s a botanical range and was expecting the herbal scent from an unscented product but this was quite earthy (but not in a nice way) with a hint of menthol possibly. The treatment applied well with no real greasy or sticky residue and I was happy to find that the scent didn’t linger in my hair. My hair came out soft, but still a bit frizzy despite the leave in treatment so I may need to increase the amount I use. The treatment hasn’t affected the length of time required in between washes (yay) and still feels lovely and soft. With continued use over longer period of time I believe this treatment would be beneficial to my hair.

Amazing Leave In Treatment
I still have post partum hair and it is still falling out in clumps and I have very thin hair. So sometimes when I use other products, my hair can feel very weighed down especially using a leave in conditioner. After using this product wow my hair felt naturally thick, healthy and shiny. The first time I think I put in a little too much, so I would go easy on the application if you have thin hair that is easily greasy like me. It lasted a few days without needing a wash and it made my hair luscious and thick (I have thin hair so I can definately tell the difference) but It would have lasted longer had I not put in so much in the first application. The smell and consistency of the product was lovely, I can tell it will last ages as you hardly use any for the ends. I didn't need to do any styling, it wasn't frizzy or unmanageable. It went nice and straight with a natural bounce to it.

Easy to apply treatment
Thank you so much Beauty Heaven for allowing me to be apart of the Aveda trial. This product was a bonus and I’ve used it a few times and will most like purchase it if it is not too expensive. I like the smell of it as it smells fresh and pure. I also like the packaging as it’s easy to apply and the body of it allows a good amount of conditioner to be distributed. I applied it on my damp hair after I used Aveda shampoo and conditioner and my new organic hair felt complete. The leave in treatment was easy to apply and was easy to lather through my thick damp hair. My hair felt revitalised and strengthened after one use of the leave in treatment. The next morning, I brushed my hair and it felt so much more easier to brush, softer as well as healthier
