Blind Buy that Paid Off!

this was a blind buy that paid off!!! The scent is warm, unique, and a standout from the crowd. I am so happy with my purchase this will be my go-to perfume. I cannot wait to use it for years to come

It took me several years to buy this because it was too strong when I sprayed it on the paper tester. But, I kept going back to test it again cause I felt like it was a hit or miss. YEARS later, I sprayed the black bottle on one wrist and the gold one on the right wrist to see how it would react to the oils of my skin... and it truly made a difference. I finally made the decision and bought the gold one! Do not buy these scents without testing on your own skin. It may not smell the same on everybody due to our natural oils. It actually smelled sweet and very intense on me, and the scent has lasted over 9 hours so far. The black bottle's scent was very subtle and did not last long on me, so I'm glad that I did not purchase that one. Do not blind buy. This scent is not for everybody, but give it a chance and try it out!

TF’s Black Orchid

I have been wearing Tom Ford’s black orchid FOR YEARS and it’s the only perfume that would stay on me all day. I never had to spray again on myself though out the day. But something has changed and I can’t smell it after an hour! It’s really disappointing because this has been my signature perfume for a very very long time!

Must HAVE!

I love this perfume! It smells so good. It last all day! This definitely a must have ! I get some many compliments.

I miss you, Tom.

Why?!!!! Tom Ford just had to sell his parfum line to Estée Lauder, and they have already ruined it in the quickest time yet. Lasting power, GONE. The trail this beauty would leave behind, GONE. The STRENGTH, GONE, GONE, GONE. Buy it if you want but it was better before the awful company got it. Tom is gone and so am I.

It’s awful

Honestly one of the worst perfumes ever. It smells so strong and you could probably smell it for miles around. If you like delicate florals (rose, jasmine etc) or gourmand (e.g. vanilla, tonka, coconut) scents, you won’t like this- it’s the polar opposite.

Beautifully done!!!

I really HATE floral fragrance... and yes this is floral, but this is a beautiful exception. Its got beautiful dark, plumy, boozy and maybe smoky notes to it. You can definitely pinpoint ylang-ylang. The name describes this scent PERFECTLY, when you smell it, you picture something dark and seductive. Once you have a smell of it, and then walk away, you will want another sniff. In my opinion it is definitely a night-time fragrance, or you have to dressed in a dark/seductive way.

Sex in a bottle

Seductive, expensive, boozy, elusive. This fragrance is the perfect marriage of opulence and sexiness. My husband loves this fragrance and I get compliments every time I wear it. Fills every room I walk into without the intrusion of cheapness or being too overwhelming. I recommend this fragrance!

nice in cold weather

It's weird, boozy, and sweet. One spray lasts forever. Hard to fall in love at first spray. But when it's cold, I find it quite warm and cozy. Better when going out, needs fresh air chemistry.

Attention Getter Indeed!

After receiving a sample of this fragrance, I decided to try it out for a day! My boyfriend said I smelt AMAZING and asked what fragrance it was…then he proceeded to buy me a bottle the next day <3

Let it dry down

This is one that needs to dry down--it's super strong and earthy, almost pungent at first spray; I can see why some wouldn't like it. After 30min-1 hour it becomes a delightful warm, complex, boozy scent with a floral undertone and a much more subtle earthiness. The Parfum (gold) version is much stronger on the opening than the EDP (black), but also has a longer wear time. Excited to have this back in my collection for fall!

A very different signature indeed.

I don't know why I like this, but I like this. A lot. And this proves not all perfume needs to (nor should be) flowery, sweet or girlish to be appealing and feminine. The bottom is woodsy with a slight cream finish. The middle is slightly dark but not overly dense, and I think I can sense the slightest titch of whiskey notes? The top has this slow seduction to it that unfurls into the more robust, developed scent. It's slightly warm, like cashmere, but not too warm. It projects well and seems to last, especially on clothes. My husband described this scent as "meh" but I had several men compliment me on this fragrance in the time it took to finish shopping and head home. When a woman commented that my perfume "smelled a bit like an old man" the man in front of her laughed, "Maybe if he as a very pretty and very rich old man!" This is a sophisticated scent that announces itself and lingers. It smells expensive. It broadcasts good taste. If you struggle with confidence from time to time, I'd recommend giving this a try. It just puts you in a different headspace, and this fragrance is lovely for those who will appreciate a very different signature.
